Nicholas Harned is an experienced Illinois business law attorney practicing law for more than 20 years in the areas of business law, health care law, and personal health care planning.
Nick earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1998, and a Master of Laws degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2000.
Nick founded Nicholas Harned Law Firm in 2018 to offer premium-quality and specialized legal services to clients without the overhead and complexity inherent in practicing in large law firms and corporate law departments. By utilizing the latest in “eLawyer” technology and maintaining a nearly virtual practice, Nick is able to provide “big law” quality legal representation at a much lower cost.
Before founding NHLF in 2018, Nick practiced law in large law firms and the legal departments of a major Illinois health care system and two Fortune 500 medical device manufacturers. He has dedicated his career to providing legal services to businesses and professionals inside and outside the health care arena.
Business leaders, general counsels, and internal stakeholders rely on Nick to provide proactive and strategic legal advice to his clients on a wide range of issues. In particular, Nick counsels his clients connection with business strategy, transactional, commercial, regulatory, and day-to-day operational issues, including the structure and negotiation of corporate transactions, regulatory compliance and licensure, risk management, intellectual property concerns, vendor and supply chain matters, and numerous other matters.
Nick’s health law experience includes representing health care industry clients, including hospitals and health systems, physician group practices, health plans, ambulatory surgery centers, and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and similar affiliation transactions.
